Katie Taylor is one of the most pleasant sportspeople you are ever likely to come across, but there is no doubt that she also has a ruthless side to her personality.
You don't get to the very summit of boxing in the way she has done without an unshakeable determination. Not only has she experienced incredible success in the ring, she has also fundamentally changed the perception of women's boxing at both the amateur and professional level.
Those were noble ventures that benefitted the sport as a whole, although a story from Eddie Hearn shows that the Bray woman also knows her own personal worth.

Eddie Hearn tells Roy Keane about terrifying Katie Taylor chat
Katie Taylor is one of the biggest earners in boxing at the moment, but it took her some time to reach that point after she turned pro.
Having joined Eddie Hearn at Matchroom after leaving the amateur ranks, it did not take her long to realise her value to the promotion.
Speaking on Stick to Football, Hearn recalled one occasion where Taylor 'scared the life' out of him when asking why some of her male counterparts were earning more money than her.
She scares the life out of me. She is the most terrifying person I've ever met. It's because she's so pleasant and then (switches).
When she was on the rise and the female talent was on the rise and not getting the commercial reward in any sort of way, we fought in Boston. She turned up and basically sold the whole place out.
She was fighting three from the end and when she walked out the place was (crazy). Afterwards, they all left.
The next morning I was at breakfast by myself, she came over and said 'can I talk to you for a second'. She said 'can I ask you how much Tevin Farmer got paid last night?'
It was about three times what she got. She said 'do you think that's fair', I said no. She said 'I think I sold all the tickets last night and everyone tuned in to watch me, so how can I be getting so much less than this guy?'
Katie Taylor certainly made sure that she was properly compensated from that point onwards.
Roy Keane was also appearing on the show, with Taylor having named the Cork man as her sporting idol in the past. He would go on to recall his one meeting with the boxer.
I met Katie once, she came to an Irish match. I spoke to Katie after she got beaten in the Olympics, I saw an interview with her and she was really upset.
I just said keep your head up and that was it. We kind of kept in touch with the odd text here and there. She came to an Irish match one night and I met her. She's an amazing fighter and is doing Ireland proud.
Well said.
You can be sure that Katie Taylor will get the correct amount of compensation for her rematch with Chantelle Cameron in Dublin next month.
