Deontay Wilder overcame the biggest test of his career on Saturday night, defeating Luis Ortiz to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
It took ten rounds for Wilder to claim victory. For much of the fight, it appeared as though that might not be the case.
After 2:05 of the tenth, Wilder landed a decisive uppercut on Ortiz which saw the referee call a halt.
Going into that round, Wilder had probably been down on points. In fact, the champion had been lucky to reach the bell in the seventh.
