In December, Michael Conlan announced that Conor McGregor would carry the tricolour to the ring for his pro boxing debut in New York.
And so he did, to the notes of Dearg Doom and Amhrán na bhFiann, at the Madison Square Garden Theater on St. Patrick's night.
Though it was Conlan's debut, it was McGregor who was often the centre of attention. After the fight, the Dubliner confronted the boxing media to discuss his much-rumoured bout with Floyd Mayweather.

The UFC fighter was ringside throwing every punch during the fight.
McGregor also celebrated in the ring with Conlan following the Belfast boxer's third round TKO win against Tim Ibarra.
