Chantelle Cameron says she can understand why Katie Taylor did not respond to a text message sent after her victory over the Bray boxer earlier this year.
The English fighter inflicted a first ever professional defeat on Taylor at the 3Arena in May. The two meet in a rematch - which will be broadcast live on DAZN - at the same venue on Saturday night.
"I did [text her] after the fight," said Cameron.
"I think ten days or two weeks after, but just a sincere message saying thank you for the opportunity and hope you and your family are well. It was just being sincere, it was just personal, it wasn't for everyone to see and say 'Ah she's messaged Katie Taylor what a good person'.
"It was a private message and just how I think I would have felt if I was on the other end and if I'd have lost. I'd probably be feeling a bit rubbish so it was just a message to say I'm grateful for the opportunity.
"I can understand why Katie didn't reply, I probably wouldn’t have replied if I’d have been beaten. It is what it is, it’s sport."

Cameron added that she's had "great preparation" for the rematch.
"I'm the fittest I've ever been, the strongest I've ever been," she said.
"I ain't got a torn triceps this time. I'm good to go.
"I feel really comfortable and I'm embracing the week. I'm enjoying it for once. Usually, I hate all this. I'm just taking it in my stride and enjoying it.
"I literally feel zero pressure. I mean, it’s all on Katie Taylor. I’m back in Dublin, in Katie’s country, and as much as I’m defending my belts, for me it’s just another fight and one I’ve already won after the last time and I think I’ll win more convincingly this time.
"I'm just coming back here to make sure I get that win. I never go for a stoppage, if it’s there it’s there."
Taylor said she's "ready to dig deep" on Saturday night.
"That's why I put my body in the trenches week in, week out throughout training camp, to be ready for these situations," she said.
"This is what every single fighter dreams of, to headline a huge sold out show like this. The atmosphere is going to be absolutely electric again. I can't wait. May the best fighter win."
