Carl Frampton is set to unify his IBF title against long term rival and WBA World champion Scott Quigg on February 27th next year.

The long term rivals have been locked in negotiations for nine months, with the the tantalising fight between the pair being mooted as far back as five years ago, but fans will now finally have the chance to see the two super-bantamweights go toe-to-toe.

The fight will take place in the Manchester Arena next spring, and one of the fighters will lose their undefeated record.

Belfast native Frampton boasts a perfect 21 from 21 record whilst his opponent has an impressive 31 wins and 2 draws from 33 fights.

Frampton recently defended his belt in Texas over the summer, recovering from his first two knockdowns as a professional to outpoint Alejandro Gonzalez Jnr in an entertaining scrap. Quigg stopped former Frampton foe Kiko Martinez on the same night in Manchester, once again paving the way for a superfight between the two.

Both fighters have taken to Twitter to confirm the fight.
