Amy Broadhurst has failed to qualify for this summer's Olympics, with the Louth native being defeated at the qualifying event in Bangkok.
The 27-year old raised eyebrows in recent months with her decision to declare for Great Britain, attempting to qualify for the games for the nation after being overlooked for the Ireland team.
Broadhurst, who won the World Championships in the light welterweight division in 2022, was not selected by Ireland for the Olympic qualification process due to her loss at the national championships last year. The spot instead went to Gráinne Walsh, who would lose in controversial fashion during an Olympic qualifying event in Italy earlier this year.
That left the door open for Broadhurst to compete in the event in Bangkok. However, after she was not selected for Ireland, she opted to declare for Great Britain, whom she qualified for via family links.

British decision to send Broadhurst to Olympics qualifier criticised
Amy Broadhurst's selection for Great Britain caused some controversy in British boxing circles, something that is only likely to intensify after her failure to qualify for this summer's Olympics.
John Stubbs, a former national performance coach with Great Britain, would take to social media to question Broadhurst's selection in the aftermath of her loss in Bangkok.

After hundreds of thousands spent on Gemma Richardson and Shona Whitwell, their Irish replacement fails to qualify.
Absolutely nothing against Amy, but as for those that let this happen... justice done.
Gemma Richardson and Shona Whitwell were previously battling for the spot given to Amy Broadhurst on the Great Britain team, with both fighters criticising the decision to select Amy Broadhurst for the Olympic qualifying event.
The British will now be left without a representative in the 60kg category at this summer's games in Paris.
