Back in April we told you to remember the name Errol Spence Jr.

The 26-year-old former Olympian fought in an IBF world title eliminator (for Kell Brook's belt) on Sunday evening in his native New York, and dropped the boom on game Italian challenger Leonard Bundu to notch his eighth straight stoppage victory and the latest in a string of sensational one-punch knockouts.

The victory moves Spence Jr's record to 21-0 (18KOs), but more importantly laid down a marker to boxing's resurgent 147-pound division; in November of 2014 Bundu fought Keith Thurman, who many consider the top welterweight in the world, and went the full 12 rounds.

Spence, as can be seen in the below highlights, took half as long to dispatch of the teak tough Italian.

'The Truth' has been cited as boxing's next American star since Floyd Mayweather's retirement; he gave Floyd a black eye in sparring before 'Money' fought Robert Guerrero in 2013 and, a year later, reportedly beat up boxing's chief asshole Adrien Broner so badly in sparring that a stunned Broner had to be held up by his trainers as he exited the ring.

In a sport crying out for transcendent figures, the likeable but vicious Spence seems destined to fill such a void.
