Tyson Fury was doing everything he could to ensure a heavyweight title fight would gain some mainstream appeal for the first time in quite a while but it appears that all his nonsense may have been in vain, at least for the time being.
German newspaper, Bild are reporting that Fury's bout with Wladmir Klitschko will not go ahead on October 24th after the Ukrainian suffered a tendon tear in his left calf.
The 39 year old heavyweight champion has apologised to fans and to Fury while his manager, Bernd Bönte, has confirmed that the fight would be rescheduled with Dusseldorf remaining as the venue.
Next week we will announce when the fight will be rescheduled. We will definitely stay in Dusseldorf. The tickets have already been sold.
Bad news for boxing fans and bad news for Fury who'll have to make do with fighting crime for the next few months.
