The boxing game has never been a straight-forward one - there's the politics and promoters, the contracts and conferences, not to mention the sizable dollops of good old-fashioned spin. Yes, it can be frustrating at the best of times.
Still, that hasn't stopped Katie Taylor's prospective opponent, Amanda Serrano, from attempting to cut through the nonsense.
But rather than directing her ire at Taylor, the Puerto Rican has taken aim at promoters including her own, Lou DiBella.
Serrano is understood to have a three-fight deal with DAZN which means she is due to fight again before a megafight with Taylor, but the fighter has suggested she hasn't even received a contract from her promoter.
I don’t read most of these articles because they aren’t accurate. I NEVER RECEIVED AN AGREEMENT CONTRACT FROM MY PROMOTER TILL THIS DAY. He can’t tell me what I’m fighting for! He needs to negotiate with me before going & agreeing on my behalf. Where’s my copy of this agreement?

The 30-year-old was responding on Twitter to an article on Irish-Boxing.com, which reports on a possible rematch with Delfine Persoon including comments from Taylor herself..
Promoters think they are bigger than the fighters but if my memory serves me right and I haven’t gotten hit that much in the Head, Fans pay to see fighters Not Promoters

While boxers can be prone talking the talk before running for the hills, Serrano appears eager for a bout with the Bray woman and the barriers to that happening, it seems, are from the supporting characters in this rivalry.
I just speak the truth! I want the fight Katie wants the fight, The fans want the fight but the Promoters just want the Money. If it’s the Biggest female fight & both girls are willing FIND THE SOLUTION. That’s why they are The So Called Promoters. Do your job PROMOTE!

Following Taylor's controversial win over Persoon in Madison Square Garden, the Irish fighter's manager, Brian Peters, claimed that while a rematch with the Belgian was "inevitable", a purse had already been agreed to fight Serrano.
Speaking to Balls.ie, he said:
Amanda Serrano is our preferred choice this year. She has to have one more fight and she has signed. The deal is done, the purse is agreed. She has signed.
A three-fight deal, she has had one fight, she is due one more and then the next fight she has to fight Katie Taylor. She is a very good fighter too.
When quizzed on the fact Serrano disputed the existence of a contract, Peters said:
I've seen the contract that she's signed. Lou DiBella, her promoter, signed it. He has promotional rights, and I've seen Eddie [Hearn] and I've gone through it and I've seen it.
And obviously, we've agreed it on our side. As far as I'm concerned, if she has some dispute with her manager or promoter, I don't know anything about that.
Taylor previously fought Serrano's sister, Cindy, last year, beating her comfortably en route to a unification bout with Persoon. However, Amanda is considered the more impressive fighter of the two, having won world titles in seven different weight categories
