If Mayweather vs Pacquiao was a sleeping tablet for the casual boxing masses then Canelo Alvarez vs James Kirkland was a handful of caffeine tablets. The fight lasted just three rounds but it was action packed (watch extended highlights at the bottom of the page).
Roy Jones Jr. summed it up perfectly for HBO.
You got a boxing match last week, this is a fight.
The cause of that third round stoppage was an Alvarez punch so devastating that if the word devastating did not exist, it would require invention to describe this KO. Alvarez hit Kirkland so hard he spun around before touching the canvas. Even the Mexican was worried about the well-being of his opponent as he lay on the deck.

And another angle.
Afterwards Alvarez said he wants a piece of both Miguel Cotto and, wait for it, Gennady Golovkin.
Alvarez vs Golovkin, that'd be more amphetamine than caffeine.
