It wouldn't be a big boxing bout without the loser citing a previously unreported injury as the reason for their loss.
Mayweather controlled the fight and was the unamious winner according to the judges. The reaction online to the spectacle wasn't overly positive.
Speaking after the fight, Pacquaio says he thought he did enough to win the fight, despite the common consensus suggesting otherwise. He also revealed that he was carrying a shoulder injury into the fight, and was denied a shot to help him:
Three weeks before the fight I got a tear in my right shoulder, It got better but it wasn't 100%.
There was no word of this injury pre-fight, and there is a little bit of the David Haye little toe excuse about it:
Commission chairman Francisco Aguilar said he first heard of the injury two hours before the fight when Pacquaio's camp requested a doctor sit in his corner. Aguilar denied this request and a late anti-inflammatory injection because the injury paperwork filed days before the fight had no mention of any problem.
