Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather
It doesn't take much for Conor McGregor to give his opinion on things. The outspoken UFC fighter has almost single-handedly opened the sport to millions of new fans.
McGregor doesn't want to be known as a one-dimensional boxer, and in an interview with Esquire, took this opportunity to fire shots at boxer Floyd Mayweather. Needless to say, it looks like McGregor doesn't think to highly of who he calls "pound-for-pound boxing's best".
I look at him as a rookie in ten other areas. If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs? If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather—pound-for-pound boxing’s best—if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than thirty seconds. It would take me less than thirty seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him.
I don't know about you, but now that's its being mentioned - a crossover fight between Mayweather and McGregor would be absolutely huge. Can you imagine a Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather bout? The hysteria would be enormous.
Obviously McGregor has a big challenge ahead in the form of Jose Aldo. Aldo is ranked as the 2nd best pound for pound fight in UFC and also has one loss in 26.
