Belfast man CJ Fulton has been enjoying plenty of success since moving to the USA to play college basketball - and he had some extremely vocal visitors to support him during his latest game on Friday night.

21-year-old Fulton is one of the highest-rated young Irish basketball players, and his father Adrian will be well known to Irish fans as one of the finest players this country has produced in the past 30 years.

CJ Fulton made his most explosive early mark on the Irish basketball scene six years ago, when he sunk an astonishing 15 three-pointers in the All-Ireland U16 final en route to victory with St. Malachy's College.

Fulton won nine All-Irelands with St. Malachy's, represented Ireland at underage European championships, and was a multiple MVP winner along the way, before setting sail for the United States to begin his NCAA journey with Lafayette in 2021.

Last year, he transferred to Charleston in South Carolina and, after a long wait, he finally had friends from St. Malachy's in attendance for Friday's game against Elon. The Belfast boys quickly stole the show with their non-stop support from the stands - and their antics in crashing the post-game press conference.

CJ Fulton currently lines out as a guard for the College of Charleston Cougars - and local news station WCIV picked up brilliant footage of the Belfast man's vocal support at Friday night's home game against Elon.

For the first time, Fulton's friends from St. Malachy's College travelled to watch him play for Charleston, kitted out in their Malachy's jerseys.

Reporter Scott Eisberg shared their story, interviewing the quartet of Belfast boys, who appeared to be having the time of their lives.

The highlight comes towards the end of the below video, as Fulton's mates crash the post-game press conference and begin chanting in his honour. Fulton seems thrilled to have a bit of home with him, and takes a step back from the spotlight to film his friends serenading him.

It's a hilarious and brilliant clip and the comments from Fulton show how much it meant to have them in the stands during the game:

I'm watching them during the game as well, seeing them celebrating and starting their chants. It's great to have them here

Evidently, the St. Malachy's influence in the crowd was a positive one - Charleston won Friday's game 80-62, with Fulton contributing six points.

Maybe there might be a cheerleading job in the pipeline.
