A huge moment in Irish AFL history will take place on Sunday, when the Geelong Cats face off against North Melbourne.
Not only will three Irishmen (Zach Tuohy, Mark O'Connor, Oisin Mullin) make up Geelong's centreline - which we presume is the first time this has ever happened - Tuohy will also be breaking Jim Stynes' long standing record for the most AFL appearances by an Irishman.
Geelong previously made history when Mayo man Mullin - who is a former GAA Young Player of the Year - made his AFL debut at half-back. With Tuohy and O'Connor also playing, it was the first time in the history of the league that three Irishmen took the field together.

In an interview on the Geelong Cats' website, Tuohy spoke about breaking Stynes' record of 264 AFL appearances, and what it means to the Laois man:
"I'm obviously super appreciative of the recognition.
“I haven't really thought about it until recent weeks when it got closer, I wasn't sure what to expect in the build up to it. The club are really good at celebrating our people so it's nice."
"I must admit, it was never really something I thought about but now that it's right here, it does feel a bit surreal.
"My goal initially was to play one game, then maybe 100-games seemed like a good effort for an Irish player. I genuinely never thought I'd get here, not that I thought I couldn't, it was just never on the horizon for me."
