Thomas Barr last night won his seventh consecutive national title at the 400m hurdles, providing a perfect send-off for the World Championships in London next month.
He was made to work for it, however, and was pushed to the end by his training partner, Paul Byrne. Barr, however, produced a trademark finish to streak home in a time of 49.79, just short of his best championship performance, which clocked at 49.68.
