However, you need to be really special if you are going to get the attention A-list celebrities that are well known across the world.

Rihanna is one such celebrity, as she is been one of the dominant forces in the music industry for over a decade, and possibly one of the most famous and recognisable faces on the planet.

So imagine the surprise and wonder of Irish sprinter Rhasidat Adeleke, who not only met the popular singer, but was showered with compliments from her as well.


Adeleke had atteneded Rihanna's party in London where the star was launching her latest beauty line Fenty Hair in Selfridges Oxford Street, and the Irish Olympian was on the guest list.

In a video shared by Athletics Ireland on Twitter, Rihanna is seen swooning over the Irish sprinter and is heard saying "Are you kidding me? I follow you" before hugging the 22-year-old star from Tallaght.

Taking to Instagram to share videos and snaps from their encounter, Rhasidat wrote: ‘Fan girl moment meeting @badgalriri.

"Such an inspiration & forever breaking barriers in the industry. My younger self would’ve never thought that Rihanna would be following me & my journey!"

Of course, you don't get on first name bases with a superstar like Rihanna unless you are also doing something incredible, and Adeleke has been doing just that.

The silky sprinter was one of the most popular representatives from Ireland at the 2024 Paris Games, running the third fastest race of her life as she finished fourth in the 400m final.
