In her Diamond League debut, Rhasidat Adeleke finished fourth in the 400m at the meeting Monaco on Friday evening.
Adeleke ran 49.99 as she finished behind winner Natalia Kaczmarek of Poland (49.63), American Shamier Little (49.68) and Lieke Klaver of the Netherlands (49.99).
"Probably a little poorly executed," Adeleke told Athletics Weekly.
"I probably shouldn't have went out so fast. It was a good race. My first 400m in a while."
The 20-year-old added that she found the Diamond League experience "very different".
"It interesting seeing all the big names," she said.
"I'm looking forward to the next one."
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who is the world and Olympic 400m hurdles champion, was also due to run in the race. McLaughlin-Levrone ran a world leading 48.74 at the US national championships earlier this month. However, she pulled out earlier in the day due to a knee issue.
“I probably shouldn’t have went out so fast but it was a good race.”

Adeleke announced last weekend that she had turned professional and would be forgoing her final year of eligibility at the University of Texas. It was confirmed on Monday that she has signed with Nike.
The Tallaght sprinter made her professional debut on Tuesday in Hungary as she finished second in the 200m behind world champion Shericka Jackson.
Adeleke was one of three Irish athletes in action at the Diamond League meeting. Ciara Mageean finished second in the mile as she broke Sonia O'Sullivan's 29-year-old Irish record while Sarah Lavin placed seventh in the 100m hurdles.
