In 1960, 18-year-old Louisville light heavyweight Cassius Clay announced himself to the world. A few months out of high school, Clay wore a parachute strapped to him on the flight over to the US. He would leave his stamp on the Olympics, earning himself the moniker 'Mayor of the Olympics Village'. This Clay/Ali's first step on the way to be becoming the biggest sporting icon of the 20th century. He beat Zigzy Pietrzykowski to win gold.
