As the new academic year nears at UCD, students will be able to avail of a new athletics track at the South Dublin campus.
Thanks to an anonymous €3 million donation in 2018, the opening of the new track is close to the finishing line.
The university had been without a track for more than a decade. The donation was earmarked for the construction of the track and its maintenance for the next two decades. Construction had been delayed on several occasions by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Irish international athletes like Israel Olatunde and Sarah Healy will be among those to use the new facility.
Sportsfile photographer Ramsey Cardy visited the track this week, and took some super shots.
