Nadia Power has won bronze in the 800m at the European U23 Athletic Championships, but it did not come without a bit of drama.
Power put in an excellent performance in the final, finishing strongly to claim third place behind the British pair of Jemma Reekie and Ellie Baker.
However, it would soon emerge that she had been disqualified. She was adjudged to have obstructed one of her opponents during the race, and it seemed like an incredibly harsh call.
The below clips shows the full race, and you can see the incident 65 seconds into the run.
Watched this back to spot where Nadia Power got DQ'd - potentially losing a bronze medal. Almost certainly the incident at 400m (65 secs into race). Harsh. https://t.co/fDJmKN81fc

There was very little in that.
It was confirmed that Power would appeal the original decision, meaning we would have to wait a while until the result was confirmed.
Thankfully, Irish Athletics would share the news that Power had been reinstated and awarded the bronze medal.
Nadia Power officially reinstated!

Well deserved.
Power would later describe the rollercoaster of emotions she went through after the race.

It was a good day for Ireland at the championships, with Eilish Flanagan winning silver in the 3,000m steeplechase.
