The four time Olympic gold medalist had already added another gold to his collection earlier this week when he took the 800m on Sunday evening, his eighth World Championship gold medal, at only 27 years of age.
Tonight, he was looking for number nine, as he was racing in the 1,500m T37 final.
It wasn't easy going and there were points of the race when he looked out of it, but McKillop game storming back for a dramatic finish.
He took the gold from Liam Stanley of Canada in a time of 4:36:38. It was the final turn where the damage was done, as Stanley had accelerated with 500m to go.

The Antrim man has dominated any race he's run in during the Championships and continues his stranglehold over both 800 and 1500m
It was a productive day for the Irish, with Michaela Walsh earlier winning bronze in the hammer throw.
