Justin Gatlin's victory in the men's 100 metres final was widely unexpected at the World Athletics Championships on Saturday night.
Struggling in the semi-finals, Gatlin was a decent bet for a medal, but the race looked set to be a coronation on Usain Bolt's historic career.
If anyone was to beat the Jamaican, American sprinter Christian Coleman looked most likely. The 21-year-old did beat Bolt, but it was Gatlin who finished in the gold medal position.
Gatlin has previously served two doping bans and in recent years has been painted as the pantomime villain in the world of athletics. He was widely booed by the London crowd before and after Saturday's final.
With that reception in mind, the IAAF announced on Saturday morning that the medal ceremony for the race would be moved forward by more than an hour. Originally scheduled to take place at 8pm, it has now swapped positions with the men's long jump medal ceremony at 6.50pm.

With the first track event not beginning until 7.10pm, the stadium will still be relatively empty, and nowhere near the crowd that will be in their seats for 8pm.
The IAAF's website still has the original times advertised on their website, with the men's 100 metres medal ceremony clearly advertised for 8pm.
Would the medal ceremony have been moved to an earlier slot, had Bolt, Coleman or any of the other five finalists won the race? You can decide that for yourself.
