John Joe Nevin's family were sadly refused entry to pubs in Mullingar yesterday to watch him do his Mullingar Shuffle en route to the gold medal. According to today's Irish Independent, Nevin has asked that all pubs in the town close when he his feted in his hometown as either a gold or silver medallist on Monday. Good shout from John Joe. Hopefully Mullingar will prove how real their pride in the boxer is by doing so.
