Iceland's Gudbjorg Jona Bjarnadottir claimed gold in the 100 m final of this year's European Athletics U18 Championships in Hungary. Running in unfavourable weather conditions, Bjarnadottir's win came in astonishing circumstances.
With the rain pouring down and wind blowing hard on the Gyor track, the three medalists (Bjarnadottir, Boglarka Takacs and Pamera Losange) claimed gold, silver and bronze on a margin of 0.006 seconds.
Have you EVER seen such a close finish to a 100m final? 😱

Ireland's representative, Patience Jumbo-Gula, came in fifth overall. A disappointing return for the runner from the St. Gerard's Club in Dundalk, Jumbo-Gula was the first to admit that she hadn't lived up to her own high standards in a post-match interview.
