Ireland's Gina Akpe-Moses stormed to a gold medal in the 100m final at the European Athletics U20 Championships.
Ciara Neville joined Akpe-Moses in the final this afternoon after the pair qualified for on Thursday evening in Italy.
Akpe-Moses finished second in her heat yesterday and secured automatic qualification. She followed up with another commanding performance today.
Under severe pressure from Germany's Keshia Kwadwo and Ingvild Meinseth of Norway, the 18-year-old stormed home in lane 5 to grab the gold.
Neville finished her race in seventh position.
You could see what it meant to her at the end, an incredible performance.
Not since Patricia Amond and Michelle Walsh in 1979 have Ireland had two runners in the final of a European U20 100m final.
Well done Gina!
