Miguel Cabrera and Austin Romine went toe-to-toe at home plate during a game between the Yankees and Tigers on Thursday.
Cabrera and Romine's fisticuffs saw the benches from both sides empty, sparking a mass all-out brawl at Comerica Park. Both players would be ejected. Three others, along with the managers from both sides and a coach would also be thrown out at various points in the game.
Cabrera and Romine's fight was kindled by the Tigers player being targeted by Tommy Kahnle. The Yankees pitcher threw a 96mph fastball behind Cabrera's back and was ejected. As Kahnle's replacement warmed up, Cabrera and Romine had words and then more.
MLB, embracing the notion that all publicity is good publicity, have been kind enough to release video of the incident.
