In what is a sequence of words that no one expected to read today, WWE wrestler Rhyno has beaten (or gored?) the competition and won the Republican primary for the Michigan House of Representatives seat.
Rhyno, whose real name is Terrance Gerin though for the duration of this article we will still refer to him as Rhyno, won the vote by the slimmest of margins, just 54 votes, and will now take on the Abdullah Hammoud who won the equivalent vote for the Democrats and the winner between these two will become the Michigan State Representative of the 15th district.
Speaking to SI.com earlier this year, Rhyno outlined his political ambitions and said he had one hero in particular.
Growing up as a kid in the '80’s, I really looked up to Ronald Reagan. I liked that feeling that you could be anything you wanted to be, and as a kid that really resonated with me.
And what was the soon-to-be victorious Rhyno doing last night as the voted were being counted? Well, he gored Heath Slater on national television of course.
So best of luck to him in his potential new gig. He should do fine, given that he has precisely the exact same amount of political experience as Donald Trump.
Will we be looking at President Rhyno in a few years? The way things seem to be going, we probably can't rule this out.
