Hard Knocks is back, and if you don't immediately know what that means, you've been missing out.
Every year American broadcaster HBO sent a camera crew to record a documentary series throughout an NFL team's pre-season camp. It is always amazingly good. This year however, the focus is on the newly relocated LA Rams which makes it more interesting than usual.
You've got 1st overall pick in the NFL draft Jared Goff as a starting rookie quarterback, you've got a stud running back in his second year in the league in Todd Gurley, and you've got Tavon Austin playing Pokemon Go, but if that wasn't enough to keep you interested, then the coaching staff certainly will.
They are all nuts, but the most remarkable character to emerge from the first episode which aired this week was undoubtedly the Rams defensive line coach Mike Waufle. He's an ex-Marine, and he has a very interesting approach to man management... Just wait until the players meeting in the below clip.
Wow.
He'll coach you up, or knock you out. Your choice.
That was intense.
But give the man the credit he's due, the Rams have probably the meanest D-Line in the league, although a lot of that is down to Aaron Donald who emerged as a star last year with 11 sacks.
His methods may be a bit strange to us over here, but he clearly gets a lot of out of his players. Still... Imagine turning up to practice late and having to face this guy?
The first episode of Hard Knocks aired on Wednesday night in the States and is usually picked up by Sky Sports over here but as of yet we do not know when they will start their coverage of the series.
