The Raw crowd on the night after Wrestlemania has long been known as the loudest and most unruly (in terms of their chanting) of the entire year so while Wicklow's Finn Balor would have no doubt been sickened to miss Mania, he couldn't have picked a better show to make his return from injury than Monday's epsiode of Raw.
Balor famously injured his shoulder in process of winning the first Univerisal Championship at last year's Summerslam and ironically his return last night came about when he emerged as the surprise teammate of Seth Rollins - the man who injured him - in a tag main event against Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe.
Rollins had been billed to team with Chris Jericho but when Y2J didn't appear, after being attacked backstage by Owens and Joe, Balor arrived out to take his place. Much to the delight of the audience.
It will go down as a special night for NXT as well, given that the four men in the main event have all come through the hugely popular developmental brand. Hence the chants of NXT that rang out throughout the match.
The slow motion footage of his return is strangely cool as well.
Elsewhere last night, Goldberg bid farewell for now after losing the Universal title at Mania to Brock Lesnar, while the Hardyz retained their tag titles and Kurt Angle was appointed as the new General Manager of Raw.
