San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin paid a touching tribute to his recently deceased son yesterday during his side's 31-21 win over the New York Giants.
Goodwin broke the news on Instagram that his son had passed away from complications during his wife's pregnancy. She had to prematurely deliver the baby at 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, hours before Goodwin took to the field to play the game.
Goodwin's contribution helped the 49ers to their first win of the season. He landed an 83-yard touchdown and paid an emotional tribute in the aftermath:

He and his wife had announced the pregnancy in September, posting a picture of them sharing a kiss while holding a sonogram. After the game the players were exuberant at having ended their losing streak, but local media reported Goodwin left quickly after the game to be with his family.
