Several months ago, we at Balls.ie broke the news that RTÉ would be running a documentary on Irish WWE star, Fergal Devitt (aka Finn Balor.)
'Smack 'Em Up' airs Wednesday 17th December at 9pm on RTÉ 2 and is a part of RTÉ's 'Reality Bites' series, which last year covered Conor McGregor in the 'Notorious' documentary that has since been picked up by Fox Sports in the US and has been commissioned for a full, 6-part series by the national broadcaster. Devitt's documentary covers a unique period of his career, as he prepares to leave Japan, where he has become a superstar and multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, with rumours of a move to WWE (that of course has since come to pass - he competes on NXT R-Evolution tonight on Sky Sports) abounding. The documentary is the first major commitment by RTÉ to cover the huge industry of professional wrestling.
