Many professional sports stars have made it to that higher plane of living by mastering the craft of being in the right place at the right time.
By contrast, many of us are working in sports media because we were never quite good enough to make it at that top level, developing a quite useless habit of spending much of the wrong time loitering in the wrong place.
That infernal fact reared its head in quite painful circumstances for one sound man in Minnesota tonight. The Vikings are hosting the cardinals, and as the Vikings were sprinting onto the field to start the game/show intent, sound man Bernie Beaudre picked a decidedly bad time to waddle across in front of the tunnel.
What followed was one of the most bone-shuddering hits you'll see in the NFL all season.
