They start 'em young out there in the States.
Jaylen Huff is a running back with almost 30,000 followers on Instagram, and clips of his training routines have amassed over 10 million views across social media... And he is eight years old.
After one of his Instagram clips showcasing his blistering speed went viral, he has quickly become an internet sensation as he is already working towards his dream of playing professional football despite his tender years.
Whistle Sports have produced a fantastic mini-documentary about him and his father, who runs his social media accounts and coaches him on a daily basis. Jalyen's father is the son of a military man so hard work and discipline has always been a part of his life, but for now at least, the young lad appears to be really enjoying himself.
The documentary shows just how big an impact social media has on sports.
Jaylen's father correctly makes the point that scouts can now see and assess players simply by watching their tape online as opposed to having to fly out and see them in person, and it's clear that having a buzz behind you in terms of followers and support can make scouts take notice.
That said, at 8-years old, Jaylen Huff has a lot of learning and playing to do before he can think about playing football at a competitive level.
Some will complain about the regimen that the youngster is strictly following, but he seems genuinely passionate about the sport and looks to be enjoying himself. His Dad restricting his social media activity is good to see too.
