'Fox and Friends', that peusdo-news channel's mix of 'debate' and lighthearted discussion, plumbed new depths after the Ray Rice incident by joking about the Baltimore Ravens running back's shocking attack on his then-fiancée Janay Palmer.
After going through the details of the assault, co-host Brian Kilmeade joked, “I think the message is, take the stairs.”
It's important to remember that Rice was still a Ravens employee when the discussion aired. After being handed a ludicrously lenient initial ban by the NFL, Rice's contract was belatedly terminated by the Ravens yesterday.
"The message is, when you're in an elevator, there's a camera," said obvious bell-end Steve Doocey.
The pair also tried to draw lazy parallels between Rice's vicious attack and domestic violence cases involving Chris Brown on Rihanna, as well as Jay-Z's elevator incident with his sister-in-law Solange. Jay-Z didn't hit back, but that didn't stop them dragging that clash into the discussion on the most tenuous grounds imaginable.
Note also the obvious discomfort of co-host Anna Kooiman, despite not having to fear for her safety while on air because she's on camera, of course.
