For years, the NFL implemented a systematic and pedantic policy of policing player’s conduct in the aftermath of touchdowns. That emotional high that accompanied scoring was curtailed by a series of stringent rules designed to suck the enjoyment out of sport and make it the corporate, marketing-craze hell-hole the rich, oblivious owners wanted it to be.
These rules are the reason the NFL attracted their apt nickname, the No Fun League.
Thankfully NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced last May that the certain rules, including use of the football as a prop, going to the ground to celebrate and group choreographing would be relaxed.
With referees no longer launching their flags into the air every time a player so much as dabs, teams have responded in kind giving us some spectacular celebrations this year. Here's the top 10.
