While the winner of Sunday night's AFL Championship clash was Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, the star was undoubtedly CBS's mystic man Tony Romo in the broadcast booth.
In the end, experience triumphed youth. It was a tie that swung over and back with both sides taking punches in a bid to land a killer blow. There was referee reviews, 80-yard touchdown drives and overtime drama. The Patriots triumphed 37-31 over the Chiefs after overtime.
Overseeing it all was Romo.
Romo is a viewers' dream as a broadcaster. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback strikes a perfect balance between insight and entertainment. His predictive powers are a joy to behold and there is a constant source of amusement at listening to someone do what they love. This is a man who was meant to predict a Rob Gronkowski over-the-top catch five seconds before it has actually happened.
