We are back!
Last Chance U is an incredible watch. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show (what have you been doing with you life?), it follows American football teams at junior colleges who offer a second chance to those who have experienced problems in their lives, both on and off the pitch.
The first two seasons focused on East Mississippi Community College, while seasons three and four looked at Independence Community College in Kansas.
Season five will be later this month and will introduce us to a new school.
We will be getting a look behind the scenes at Laney College, based in Oakland, California. In 2018, the school went 11-2 and won their first ever California Community Colleges Athletics Association title. Last Chance U will cover their exploits in the 2019 season.
Judging by the trailer, the star of this season looks set to come in the form of the team's coach. John Beam has been coaching the team since 2012 and certainly seems to be the dominant personality at the school.
You can watch the trailer in full below.
The show will be released on July 28th.
While Last Chance U features players who have had a tough journey in the sport, there have been some success stories.
A couple of players who featured in the show have had NFL opportunities. Malik Henry, star of seasons three and four, also earned a scholarship at Nevada, throwing an incredible touchdown pass last year.
It awaits to be seen if this year's group are up to that standard.
The Netflix show has now been without controversy however, with Independence Community College's head coach Jason Brown forced to resign after he sent a text to a German freshman player saying 'I'm your new Hitler.'
