The Denver Broncos defence won the Super Bowl. Generally speaking, when both QBs are being pilloried for their performance, it's unlikely that it was worth the vast majority of us staying up to watch. Yes, there's plenty of Irish fans who'll no doubt have been enthralled by Von Miller and the rest of the Broncos' defence making light work of the NFL's supposed best offence but really most of us were there to see a last minute Hail Mary to win the game. Either that or someone royally fucking up like last year.
Unlike the stultifying event itself, we delivered some red-hot discourse around the game on our daily sports podcast The Racket. Listen here:
It didn't happen and while there'll no doubt be plenty of interest about the whys and wherefores of Denver's win, it seems the other big competition is being given added credence this year due to the less than stellar showing on the field.
Who won the Super Bowl ads?
The existence of that question goes a long way to explaining why Donald Trump is a legitimate US presidential candidate but we'll ignore the capitalist arguments for the moment and just say bravo to Doritos who, by all accounts, have blown the competition out the water with their first quarter ad.
When you're spending $5 million on a 30 second slot, you might as well make it memorable.

If The Rock says this is the winner, then we won't argue with him.
That Doritos baby ultrasound commercial could win best commercial of #SB50. 👏🏾😂
