It's NFL Draft season, with the draft just around the corner in two weeks. Scouts are still trying to analyse prospects, media people are doing their best to come up with mock drafts - and fans are voicing all sort of opinions online to see who they want to make their team great.
Usually there are a lot of trades in the draft - but the vast majority of them don't come until draft day when teams are on the clock.
That's one of the reasons why today is so different. The newly based Los Angeles Rams have just given up a king's ransom to move up to the number one overall pick. The Rams acquired the pick from the Tennesse Titans with the intention of getting a quarterback. We'll have to wait until April 28th to figure out if it's for Carson Wentz or for Jared Goff - but it's a huge statement of intent from the LA team.
#Titans receive: 1st rd (15 overall), 2nd rd (43), 2nd round pick (45), 3rd round pick (76), 1st round pick in 2017, 3rd round pick in 2017.

In exchange for the No.1 pick - the Rams gave up their 15th pick, their two second round picks (43 and 45), and their third round pick (No 76), as well as a first and a third round pick from next year's draft. The Rams get back the first pick, and a fourth and six round pick from Tennessee.
The Rams essentially make a reverse RG3 trade. Deal 2 second rnd picks and 3rd this year, plus a 1 and a 3 in 2017 ...

It's a huge statement of intent from the Rams, who got a similarly huge deal when trading out of the second spot in 2012 when the Washington Redskins took Robert Griffin III. With Griffin now with the Browns, the Rams will be hoping they get the better end of the deal yet again.
For the Titans, who already have a franchise quarterback - they now have six picks inside the top 76 picks and a real chance to significantly boost their roster.
