Sweet Chin Musings: The Twitter Reaction To Last Night's Money In The Bank

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Despite the poster for SummerSlam featuring John Cena and Brock Lesnar as headliners leaking during the week, many (including myself) convinced themselves it wouldn't come to pass that Cena would win the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event ladder match. Then, sure enough, he did. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins was also predictably victorious in the (now traditionally show-stealing) secondary ladder match for the Money In The Bank briefcase, nearly killing himself in the process. It was an exciting PPV, but not an unpredictable one, as all the favourites retained: Paige and The Usos retained their respective titles, Rusev remains undefeated despite a competitive bout with Big E and Stardust and Goldust kept their own mini-winning streak alive as they saw off Rybaxel.

Here's the best of the night's action, according to Twitter:

Bad News Barrett was ruled out before the PPV began...

After getting caught checking out Paige on Raw, 'The King' let her get her own back...

Sandow had some fun with the tea party jokes...

Of course it's been a long journey for Sandow. A long journey downhill...

Kofi Kingston did his typically crazy ladder highspot...

That's a shoot...

This, also, is a shoot...

A good description. Of course you could've also had, "...is like Goldust."

Layla and Summer Rae exchanged bitchy words backstage before their match...

Meanwhile Big E continued to perturb with his new voice...

Rusev's streak of beating up black competitors continued...

Don't try apply logic to Summer Rae/Layla...

Fandango needs to realise the opportunities available to him here...

Ummmm, I think it's "Sometimes...if you really have to."

Sheamus' Irish shtick has taken a sad turn...

It's the same for every ladder match...

It was inevitable. Why did we convince ourselves this might not happen?
