The Minnesota Vikings have reached the NFC Championship game following a miracle win against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night.
The Vikings let slip a 17-0 half time lead to trail 24-23 in the last minute of the game. Quarterback Case Keenum had taken his team to their own 40 yard line but all hope looked lost in the final play of the game.
That was until wide receiver Stefon Diggs took advantage of some sloppy defensive play from Saints safety Marcus Williams to run in a touchdown with will live long in the memory.
The indignity of defeat was later heaped upon for the Saints. After the game-winning touchdown, the defeated players headed for the locker room. However, their participation in the game was not over: they still had to line up for the extra point as required by NFL rules.
Once the field had been cleared and NFL officials had called a sufficient number of Saints players back from the dressing room, they lined up for the extra point. The Vikings chose not to rub it in by kicking the score and instead took a knee.
