The pints* are well and truly on Russell Wilson after it emerged just how much he's earning since he put pen to paper on a new deal with the Seattle Seahawks this evening, ending any speculation over his future in the process.
(* = Russell Wilson doesn't drink pints, only holy water)
As he was coming off of his rookie contract, the Seahawks were in a difficult negotiating spot as they wanted to keep their starting quarterback, but without paying "Elite QB" money that the top earners at the position are earning.
In the end, the Seahawks decided to show their 2014 Super Bowl winning QB the kind of love he wanted to see, and the figures are stunning.
Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have agreed to a 4-year, $87.6-million extension, per source.

Damn!
Here's how BusinessInsider.com are reporting the breakdown:
The deal comes with a $31 million signing bonus (tied for the most in the NFL this season), $60 million guaranteed (the second most in the NFL), and a $21.9 million average salary that ranks second in the NFL behind Aaron Rodgers.
Only Aaron Rodgers of the Packers is earning more.
When you look at the alternatives, it seems that the Seahawks had no choice but to pay the man with no playoff calibre QB's in free agency and their poor bargaining position in the draft, but do you think DangerRuss is worth that kind of investment?
