While Ireland drank in a third ever Grand Slam on St. Patrick's Day, Rob Gronkowski was celebrating the day in his own fashion.
Dressed a leprechaun, the New England Patriot hit the bars of Nashville and crashed the stag party of an NFL journalist.
In an article for CBS, John Breech explained what happened.
After about five minutes at the bar, my brother turns to me and says, "Am I drunk or does that giant leprechaun over there look like Rob Gronkowski?"
Let me just say that if you ever see a 6-foot-6 guy wearing a cut-off hoodie with athletic shorts and a leprechaun costume, there is a 100-percent chance that it's Rob Gronkowski.
Following this year's Super Bowl, an epic game which New England lost to Philadelphia, it emerged that the 28-year-old was considering retiring from the sport.
Rather than drunkenly approach Gronkowski in hope of getting a scoop about his future, Breech sent his father - a former NFL player with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gronk told Jim Breech that he was undecided but that he might play for the "69ers" next season.
I think Rob Gronkowski just crashed my bachelor party in disguise. Not sure if he's going to retire, but said he could be playing for the "69ers" next season. I love my job. I love Gronk. #Patriots pic.twitter.com/ySWLHhjuJN

That was not the only sighting of Gronkowski dressed as a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day.
Should have told you he was on the way. Hope you had a good time. pic.twitter.com/hStD9d7Rem
