Oakland Raiders Vontaze Burfict could be set for a season-long ban after the hit that saw him ejected from Sunday's 31-24 win over the Colts.
The incident saw tight end Jack Doyle flattened by a helmet to helmet hit and resulted in much criticism of the controversial linebacker.
Throughout his career, Burfict has missed ten games due to suspension and six have been due to violations of player safety rules. Now, per ESPN, Burfict will be handed a season-long ban. He will reportedly appeal any suspension.

This is Burfict's first season with the Raiders, and he was named a team captain. Speaking after the game, coach Jon Gruden had few complaints.
"It was a penalty, he went in there with his head down, it was called and, unfortunately for us, it was an ejection."
