There were just seconds left in Seattle's defeat to Jacksonville on Sunday when Quinton Jefferson was ejected from the game. Though, that was not the last action which the defensive end saw last night.
As he walked down the tunnel, Jefferson had beer thrown at him from the stands. Moments later, despite being held back by security staff, Jefferson attempted to climb into the stands and confront fans.
"I’m not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me. Just because I’m playing football, I’m still a human being. I’m still a man," he told ESPN after the game.
Shortly before Jefferson had been ejected, tension had been high on the pitch after a fight broke out. Jefferson and teammate Sheldon Richardson were sent from the action following scuffles on consecutive plays.
