After years of Adidas as far as the eye could see, the NBA is set for a facelift as Nike has taken over production of the uniforms for all 30 teams in the league.
Well, it's kind of a facelift, as most of the teams jerseys will stay the same - only the Nike swoosh will be different - but each team has at least one brand new jersey, known as the 'statement' jersey which is marketing jargon for 'alternate' and while they are yet to go on sale, they were unveiled en mass last week.
For the most part, it must be said that these Nike jerseys are extremely attractive but we have put together the full lineup for each team and ranked them as a collective to determine which franchise has the best uniforms.
As always, these rankings will piss some people off, so if you find yourself disagreeing with any of our selections feel free to get in touch and let us know why. With that said, let's get down to business.
#30 - LA Clippers
Way too boring, and that alternative Clippers logo on the black jersey is just awful.
#29 - Orlando Magic
Never liked the pinstripes, although the black version is not bad.
#28 - Memphis Grizzlies
Again, the 'statement' jersey is the pick of the bunch here.
#27 - Houston Rockets
We were hoping for a change, didn't get it.
#26 - Washington Wizards
It's both too American, and not American enough for a team from Washington at the same time.
#25 - Sacramento Kings
Big fan of the black, but the bright purple with 'SAC' in big letters? You'd be laughed at in Ireland anyway.
#24 - New York Knicks
Traditional classic, let down by a boring 'statement' jersey.
#23 - Dallas Mavericks
Liking the Dallas skyline in the 'statement' jersey, the other two are as they were.
#22 - Philadelphia 76ers
We're at the section now where there aren't really any bad jerseys anymore.
#21 - Detriot Pistons
The 'statement' jersey could have offered a lot more.
#22 - Los Angeles Lakers
Unchanged, but still a classic.
#19 - Miami Heat
See Lakers.
#18 - Denver Nuggets
The yellow 'statement' jersey boosted the Nuggets up a few places.
#17 - Cleveland Cavaliers
Not sure whether to love or hate the black one, solid effort for the Cavs all around.
#16 - Toronto Raptors
Simple, but effective, hard not to like the Raptors jerseys.
#15 - Oklahoma City Thunder
No change in the first two and then a big change for the third, we're liking it.
#14 - Portland Trailblazers
One of the best sets of jerseys in the league, the 'statement' was a bit of a letdown.
#13 - Milwaukee Bucks
All new jerseys and all are excellent.
#12 - Brooklyn Nets
Hard to go wrong, and Nike didn't. Solid.
#11 - Utah Jazz
Looking well, Utah, we would have preferred the yellow in the same pattern as the other two.
#10 - Phoenix Suns
Vibrant and strong, the Suns usually have good jerseys and these are no exception.
#9 - New Orleans Pelicans
That font is just fantastic and makes all three jerseys.
#8 - Indiana Pacers
All new, all in the same style, and we love them all. A job well done.
#7 - Chicago Bulls
Classics. No change, and no need for it.
#6 - San Antonio Spurs
Again not much deviation, the 'statement' jersey is a winner though.
#5 - Atlanta Hawks
All new and all excellent, the 'statement' jersey is one of the best.
#4 - Golden State Warriors
No change in the first two but the 'statement' jersey is new and absolutely fantastic.
#3 - Boston Celtics
Again, a superb black jersey adds to the classics, we want it.
#2 - Charlotte Hornets
The only team in the whole league allowed to use the Jordan logo thanks to their owner, all three are outstanding.
#1 - Minnesota Timberwolves
Yes. The new design was knocked out of the park and the Wolves earn top spot in our rankings with three all-new jerseys.
