The Carolina Panthers survived a late fightback from the New York Giants to take their record to 14-0 for the start of the NFL season but it wasn't the thrilling game that had everyone talking in the aftermath. It was the horrific helmet-to-helmet lunge that Odell Beckham threw in on Panthers cornerback Josh Norman.
The footage has been edited to include the lead up to the highly uncalled for hit and it certainly doesn't look good for the League's poster boy.

The play was dead, it was entirely deliberate and yet Beckham somehow remained on the field to finish out the game. There has been understandable outrage at the incredibly dangerous hit in the aftermath of the clash and Norman himself was perhaps more critical than anyone.
The guy took a shot at me like I don't know how many times. When you're taking a shot at a guy's head, c'mon now. I hope I pulled back the mask on who he really is. Players like that don't need to be in the game.
Considering the incredibly dangerous nature of Beckham's reaction, it's easy to see why Norman is so angry about the incident. Beckham, for his part saw the incident quite differently.
You're out there competing against one of the best teams in the league, an undefeated team. Anyone who has a passion for football is going to go as hard as they can.
Make of that what you will but we certainly know who we're siding with on this one.
