8 year old Noah Roberts scored an especially poignant 40 yard touchdown at the East Carolina University Pirates Spring Game last Saturday. Roberts, in 2010 was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that has resulted in the child needing to have two tumors removed from his brain and one from his spinal cord. Unfortunately more tumours have been discovered with three more in his brain with doctors detecting the newest one, a fourth tumor, two months ago while they worked on removing the one from his spine. Roberts, who has been a regular at East Carolina games and inspired by last week's Nebraska Spring Game, Noah was invited by the team's Strength Coach to attempt something similar.
The crowd chanted his name after he scored the touchdown and it would have hard for anyone present not to shed a tear.
