Antonio Gates is a legend in San Diego. The veteran tight-end is still going strong in his 12th year in the NFL after being picked up as an undrafted free-agent in 2003, and remains one of the better fantasy football options in the agonisingly shallow TE position following good showings in the past two weeks.
Fantasy owners who do have Gates however will be saddened to learn that he will not be playing this week, and could be out for some time after it emerged that he has an MCL injury, and when asked about it, he came out with a highly amusing quote:
Antonio Gates: "The MCL is a big part of my game .. If I'm not able to move laterally, I'm not the same player. That's what makes me me."

"The MCL is a big part of my game.."
Yes, we would imagine the one of four major ligaments in the knee and one essential to the act of walking/movement in general would be a big part of any athlete's game.
Gates, who followed the blueprint for NFL tight-end success of playing basketball in college, has only played in two games this season, but he has managed to haul in nine passes in both outings. Another injury layoff is the last thing he would have needed, so hopefully it's not too severe.
