News filtered through before yesterday evening's Heat - Celtics game that Celtics point guard and their most important player Rajon Rondo was out with a hyperextended knee. By the second quarter, everyone knew that it was a torn ACL which would rule him out for the remainder of the season.
The Celtics players had not been made aware though. After the game, ESPN sideline reporter Doris Burke went into full Geoff Shreeves mode as she told Paul Pierce about Rondo's injury.
No. Doris Burke, I think. She's been studying tape of old Geoff RT @heeegons: @mccarthymick did Geoff Shreeves tell him?

TellingPierce that Rondo was out for the season? You know Geoff Shreeves would have loved to take that one step further.

This is the face you make when told on live TV that your best player has a season ending injury.
